This is a 7.8 mile loop hike with 1500 cumulative feet of elevation gain that takes about 3-5 hours to complete. The Dark Angel is not an arch, but a dark-colored pinnacle that sit like a sentry at the northwest extreme of the Devil’s. It’s only about 5-10 yards away from the arch. The maze of use trails leading to and from Double-O Arch make it easy to miss. Continue northwest toward Dark Angel, just a big rock pinnacle. After this, watch carefully for the junction with the spur trail to Dark Angel. Eventually, you'll hit the junction with the main trail, where you'll see Double O Arch, my favorite of the day. There is no trail to the actual collection of amazing rock art panels. There is an overnight camping area and it is wonderful to experience sunset and sunrise amongst the huge stones. Dark Angel Pictographs are hidden away is an enchanting corner of Arches National Park. I got backtracked once and ended up at an unnamed arch, but otherwise it was easy going. The Devils Marbles is a large field of boulders in the central Australian desert of the Northern Territory. The Devil's Playground Primitive Trail leaves the main trail from here and is easy to follow until you enter the section with big rock fins, and cairns lead the way through the maze. Starting from the Devil's Playground Trailhead, follow the main trail for a while, with short detours to Pine Tree Arach and Tunnel Arch, until you see the stunning Landscape Arch on the left. ![]() This is a really nice loop in Arches National Park that leads you to 7 named arches, a phallic rock, and countless unnamed minor arches. The Dark Angel Hidden Petroglyphs are not on any map and rangers wont give you directions to the area, but on a spur trail off the Devils Garden Trail.
